Headache is an abstract watercolor of someone with a really bad headache. You can see the swollen eyes and some orange bruises. Maybe they were in a fight? Maybe they are in pain? Is this how a migraine feels? What do you see? It is mainly shades of blue with three splashes of orange.

My fascination with patterns stems from my love of numbers. While mathematics has been integral in my working career in finance, my other love is painting. My subject matter is inspired by photographs taken by friends and family. I see a photograph in terms of color, line and geometry. These qualities appeal to my sense of order and design (my fascination with numbers translated into art). There are times when a single photograph and the resulting abstract painting leads to another path -- and another painting -- and sometimes a third or fourth version from the same photo.
