Commander Harold's New Ship
Commander Harold looked out sadly at his three new recruits. Only one, the first one, seemed to have any clue how to dress. As always, new recruits were given an instruction manual which included how to dress properly. He sighed........It was getting more and more difficult to find personnel with any brain cells. He sighed......How could Command Control expect him to conquer the known world when his recruits couldn't even read? He sighed......
'YOU TWO' he yelled, 'You two, second and third in line – what are your names?!'
Promptly, they responded. 'Sir, yes Sir – I am Sylvia.' 'Sir, yes Sir – I am Ethel.'
Commander Harold was furious. 'Did you not read the manuals? Did you not realize your streamers are facing the wrong direction? Did you not understand that the streamers are to face front? Did you not understand the IMPORTANCE of details?'
Silently, Sylvia groaned. Duh, SIR, did you not realize these stupid blue hats are too big to fit below deck? Silently, Ethel giggled.......Duh, SIR, did you forget the known world is the bathtub and Command Control is Mommy?
'HHAARRROLD!' Mommy screamed, 'PLEASE, stop yelling and splashing water all over the bathroom. How many times do I have to tell you!!

Are the Aliens Here? They want to know who is reading this.......
Their arrival went unnoticed and unseen
Casual, friendly, helpful, never mean
The changes they brought—loved and hated
Many talked and many debated
But the internet stayed
And so many elated
It became a part of our lives
The world so close; none could hide
We could visit with friends far away
Facts or not, we had our say
The slow infiltration now began
No one questioned, no one ran
Now it seems all our secrets revealed
You thought it safe, now unsealed
Words and thoughts no longer your own
It is too late for a moan or a groan
The aliens are here; they arrived unseen
Casual, friendly, helpful, never mean
But now we no longer have to think
Is our civilization on the brink?

Yellow Orb from Planet X is digital art based on a photograph of yellow algae in a green pond. Looks a little like a spider's web. The colors are mostly shades of dark green with a brilliant yellow center. Pale green lines radiate out from a center of yellow and blue. A spider's eye? An alien eye? What do you see? Digitally altered from my original photo or paintings

Stumped is an abstract watercolor painting of tree limbs, or tree branches. It might be a Birch tree. Count the lines in the core to see how old the tree is. When this piece was completed, I was really unhappy with it. So, I washed it off by running cold water over it. This presented new possibilities and so the tree trunk and stumps emerged. This painting is mostly soft, pastel colors of pink, yellow, green and blue. This image is included in my Washed Off Wonders collection.
While never asking to explain
Only seeing a sad refrain
A life one-sided is never whole
Questions unanswered take their toll
And so the depths are never known
Nor sought, nor seen, nor sown

View with Two Trees is an abstract watercolor of the stark landscape of winter. The two trees in the foreground have lost all their leaves as winter is setting in. The sky is gray and the mountains in the distance are a bluish gray. It is actually based on a photograph of a view of Los Alamos, NM.

White Bird at Night is a digitally altered picture from an original watercolor. There is white bird in the upper right hand corner flying above a white tree. The sky is dark blue with even darker clouds. The white bird stands out against the moody, dark sky. It is in a square format.

Haiku/
Some minds were poisoned
While others sought sanity
Watching and waiting
Strong words swayed some
Many waited for answers
While cowered in fear
What end awaited
When distant futures unknown
They tumbled through time

Yellow Demitasse Bouquet is a beautiful photograph of fresh cut flowers in a yellow, Nippon china creamer. The flowers are from my yard and the Nippon creamer was my mother's. The set of demitasse includes this creamer, a sugar bowl and two teacups with saucers. On special occasions, as a little girl, I would have coffee in one of these beautiful teacups.
