Pipes and Paths is an abstract watercolor based on the inner workings of a reel-to-reel tape deck. I thought it looked like a schematic for the piping in a building. However, another opinion was it looked like the layout for a garden -- with trees, pathways, shrubbery, picnic tables, hot tub and a kiddie pool. There are red circles, red paths or pipes, blue paths or pipes, and square boxes. There is a soft pink background. What do you see?

Sylvia was more than satisfied with the divorce settlement. She got to keep the home in the Hamptons. My fascination with patterns stems from my love of numbers. While mathematics has been integral in my working career in finance, my other love is painting. My subject matter is inspired by photographs taken by friends and family. I see a photograph in terms of color, line and geometry. These qualities appeal to my sense of order and design (my fascination with numbers translated into art).
