Street Scene with Telephone Pole is a view of houses and buildings with a telephone pole and wires. This was the view from an apartment window where I lived for a long time. It was a great view from a third floor kitchen window; I could just sit and watch the world go by.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to peruse old photographs of Philadelphia's long gone factories:

My fascination with patterns stems from my love of numbers. While mathematics has been integral in my working career in finance, my other love is painting. My subject matter is inspired by photographs taken by friends and family. I see a photograph in terms of color, line and geometry. These qualities appeal to my sense of order and design (my fascination with numbers translated into art). There are times when a single photograph and the resulting abstract painting leads to another path -- and another painting -- and sometimes a third or fourth version from the same photo.
