Description
Lawn Mower is a fanciful rendition of the old push-type lawn mower. A bit of color has been added so it is not the burdensome-looking mower that it really is. It sits rusting in the basement and is seldom used. It does have its advantages -- energy saving and quiet!
They thought they'd make 'art' from me. They thought it would make me feel better. They thought I'd like my fifteen minutes of fame on the internet. Sure, right! Yes, they put me aside in the basement. The basement!! No one goes into the basement – its damp and cold. Oh, sorry mice. Yes, it's so nice of you to keep me company all these lonely days. They gave up being Luddites and bought a POWER mower. Replacing me! After years and years of quality service. How soon they forgot that I am environmentally friendly; that I don't use fossil fuels; that I don't make lots of noise.
Oh, she said, 'take a picture; look at those wonderful shadows.' She paints this stupid picture of me. Makes me look like some namby pamby object with those stupid colors. No, I am steel; I have strong cutting blades. I am not this colorful looking toy. Ugh!!
Then, then, she takes my photograph and 'enhances' it with some gadget on the computer. Have you seen that? Red and yellow? She thinks she is so modern; so clever. Another bigger UGH!
Just so you know, if you are reading this, that I am strong and bold with many years of life left! This 'artwork' is totally embarrassing. Just so you know. I'm in the basement in case you'd like to visit. It's cold and lonely except for the mice.
