Description
Mums is a softly-toned watercolor of mums with petals in varying shades of orange. They are set on a background of pale pink. Green stems are intertwined. They could also be daisies, but the artwork is based on the chrysanthemums in my garden. Chrysanthemums usually bloom in the fall.
Ode to Fall Flowers
Our neighbors' gardens sad and forlorn
Their summer glory all but gone
But here we have goldenrod bright
Asters in bloom - blue, purple and white
The autumn sedum in pink & red
The mums they wave a colorful head
Bluebeard and hyssop still grace the lawn
The morning glories open at dawn
And so the bees from miles around
An oasis in our yard they've found
On every bloom they land and feast
From the largest to the very least
All the bees in our neighborhood
Have landed here where life is good
